Another motorbike trip to the north of Russia (this time to the Kola Peninsula) had been planned by us before the beginning of the disastrous pandemic.

And the Rybachy Peninsula is expected to become a particularly popular destination with travellers this year.

I have been coming to this area every year for the last 18 years. It all started with diving back in 2002, then I went for expeditions by ATVs, snowmobiles, cars and motorbikes.

As for me, the Kola Peninsula is probably the only place on the Earth where I return again and again. Harsh rocks, the cold sea and nature of the tundra attract me like a magnet.

This morning we left Kalyazin, a small town on the Volga, which is famous for its bell tower sticking out of the water in the middle of the river. Then we passed by Uglich and Myshkin, which are the parts of the Golden Ring of Russia (the route around the most beautiful cities). Then there were Rybinsk and Cherepovets on our way and at the end of the day we reached Belozersk.

The weather is wonderful, the company is great, the road is… quite different, but our mood is still fantastic!
